How to Remove/Uninstall Maldet (Linux Malware Detect) from Linux Server
You must have root access to the server to remove/uninstall Maldet from the server. Maldet uninstall file is in directory /usr/local/maldetect
1. Log into your linux Server as root user
2. Run maldet uninstall script file ‘sh /usr/local/maldetect/uninstall.sh’
3. Enter ‘y’ to confirm removing maldet
maldet uninstall file : /usr/local/maldetect/uninstall.sh
Uninstaller will ask for confirmation “Would you like to proceed?”. Enter “y” and press enter to remove maldet.
root@server [/usr/local/maldetect]# sh uninstall.sh
This will completely remove Linux Malware Detect from your server including all quarantine data!
Would you like to proceeed? [y/n] y
Removed symlink /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/maldet.service.
Linux Malware Detect has been uninstalled.
Now Maldet is completely removed from the server. You can also delete maldet by searching and deleting all maldet folders and crons on the server.
