How to upload files to your website using cPanel File manager
File Manager can be used to :
1. Create new file in your cPanel account
2. Create a new folder in your home directory/website
3. Change permission of files and folder in your account/website
4. Upload a new file to your cPanel account
5. Download a file from your cPanel account
6. Delete a file/folder from your account
7. Rename a file/directory in your cPanel account
8. Edit files in your website
9. Change the permission of the directories and files
Do the below steps to upload files to your website/cPanel account.
1. Login to your cPanel account using the login details provided by your hosting provider
URL to access cPanel : yourwebsite.com/cpanel
Type the above link in your web browser to access cPanel. ‘yourwebsite.com’ should be replaced with the actual name of the domain.
2. Search for ‘File Manager’ in cPanel search bar.

3. Click on ‘File Manager’ under ‘Files’
This will open ‘File Manager’ in new browser tab.

4. Click on ‘Upload’ to upload files to your website.

Upload files to Public_html
Make sure you are uploading the website files to your public_html directory. Files in your home directory cannot be accessed in the web browser, only files in your public_html directory can be accessed in browser.
5. Either drag and drop the files you wish to upload
OR
Click on ‘Select File’ and browse the path of the file you want to upload.
If you tick ‘Overwrite existing files’ then it will overwrite the files with the same name.

Some web hosting providers might restrict the maximum file size that can be uploaded through cPanel. You can use FTP instead of ‘File Manager’ to upload files to your website/cPanel account if there’s any maximum upload limit set by your hosting provider.
How to download files in your website using File Manager
2. Click on ‘File Manager’ icon and this will open ‘File Manager’ interface
3. Select the file you wish to download

4. Click on ‘Download’ to download the file you’ve selected.
